Adult Italian Classes, Winter 2024
General Information
- All evening adult group Italian classes are offered weekly online via Zoom. They run for 16 weeks and are 2 hours long. Class selection will vary from year to year.
- All group classes require a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 students, unless otherwise stated by the Language Program Coordinator.
- Transfers from one group class to a different group class are only allowed if approved in advance by the Language Program Coordinator.
- Casa Italia also offers private classes for adults. One-on-one classes will be scheduled at the convenience of the student and the instructor. For more detailed information and rates, contact our office.
- The recording of any remote (Zoom) group class is prohibited unless the lesson will be used for teacher training or observation purposes. The class participants will be informed in advance by the head teacher.
- Italian classes may be offered during the Summer months as well.

Student Responsibilities
Each student is required to obey all class regulations and rules of Casa Italia for the duration of the group class. We reserve the right to cancel students’ participation in the program in the event of violations of the rules.
Terms of Payment
To qualify for the early registration discount, the student’s enrollment form and the full payment must be received in the office and postmarked prior to the date of the specific deadline. No exceptions will be made.

No space in a class will be reserved until tuition payment has been received in full.

Refund Policy
Refunds for classes are based on specific dates of withdrawal.
- A full tuition refund of 100% will be given if a student withdraws before the first scheduled class. A partial refund of 80% will be given if a student withdraws between the first and second scheduled classes. NO refunds will be given after the second scheduled class.
- Textbooks for children’s and adults classes are not sold by Casa Italia and are not returnable or refundable.
- Any applicable tuition discounts will not be given at the time of registration. They will be applied retroactively once the tuition payment has been received.
Overview of Adult Group Italian Language Classes
Beginning 1 (2 Sessions) Students will acquire new Italian vocabulary and grammar skills. No previous knowledge of Italian is required.
Beginning 2 (2 Sessions) Students will expand their vocabulary skills and will be introduced to a higher level of grammar and cultural concepts. A minimum of one year of Italian learning is required.
Intermediate 1, 2 (2 Sessions) Students will continue to develop their vocabulary, grammar and cultural skills. They will learn how to correctly apply grammar rules and will sharpen their comprehension and writing skills. Completion of both Beginning 1 and 2 classes is required.
Advanced 1, 2 (2 Sessions) Students will be working with higher-level texts and grammar concepts. They will also focus on expressing themselves more fluently in academic and social situations. Completion of Intermediate 1 and 2 sessions is required.
Conversational (2 Sessions) Students will continue to advance their oral communication, pronunciation, and listening skills. They will gradually discover new vocabulary, idiomatic phrases and other expressions that will allow them to converse in Italian more effectively and fluently. Class also includes occasional grammar review. (as needed)
