2018 Vocal Scholarship

2018 Vocal Scholarship Competition and Awards Banquet

COMPETITION

Once again, the Italian Cultural Center at Casa Italia is excited to offer a chance for students to participate in a fabulous scholarship and concert event. Building upon our 43-year history of offering scholarship opportunities to young aspiring students; we welcome operatic vocalists of all nationalities and ethnicities to compete for four of our five scholarships. We do require; however, that all audition numbers be selected from the Italian repertoire and written by an Italian composer.

Our 43rd Annual Italian Cultural Center’s Vocal Scholarship Competition was founded by the late Josephine L. LiPuma, a noteworthy operatic talent and Italian Cultural Center Volunteer. The competition will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Italian Cultural Center, located at 1621 N. 39th, Stone Park, IL 60165. We will be awarding $7,000.00 in scholarships this year to five talented winners.  Applications and other required information must be received by e-mail at info@casaitaliachicago.org by Friday, October 12, 2018. If you have any questions, please contact us at (708)345-5933 Ext. 2.

Contestants are eligible and encouraged, within age limitations, to compete year after year. They cannot win the same scholarship more than once.

There is a $25 deposit payable on-line, www.casaitaliachicago.org.  A full refund of $25 will be issued only if a contestant performs at our competition on October 20 or a written cancelation is sent to info@casaitaliachicago.org on or before October 12.  No other refunds will be allowed.  The refund will take up to 5 business days.

We ask all teachers to pass this information on to your students.  We also ask anyone who knows someone who may be interested to pass on the information.

We look forward to seeing you at our Vocal Scholarship Competition on October 20.
