In Assisi, a young girl who finds great joy in nature, faith and doing good for others chooses St. Francis as her mentor. She rebels against her aristocratic family, founds an order of nuns and begins performing miracles, including deathbed healings. Later canonized as St. Clare, her prayers hold off an army of invaders intent on attacking Assisi. Screening: March 6, 2026

The gorgeous Italian Alps just after World War II frame the story, winner of Best Film 2025 in Italy’s Oscars, of a village teacher whose class includes his own children, each with talents and rivalries. Daughter Lucia falls in love with a mysterious deserter from Sicily who saved her uncle’s life, but what she doesn’t know about him will stun the entire village. Screening: March 13, 2026

Isabella Rossellini commands the screen in this tale of Arturo, her almost son-in-law, who has a sixth sense for finding the locations of ancient treasures buried below ground. In this incredibly fun caper, a teen in a make-a-quick-buck section of 1980s Naples copies hit songs onto a mixtape to help his brother impress a girl. Soon, he’s selling more mixtapes, buying a Maserati, and living the luxe life while building his copyright-infringing enterprise into Italy’s biggest music distributor. Screening: April 10, 2026

Films are screened in the Italian American Community Room in the Community Center at Casa Italia in Stone Park. Free parking is available behind the Italian Cultural Center, 1621 N. 39th Ave. Doors open at 7 p.m., and screenings begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. Complimentary refreshments will be available.
