The family of an American art collector learns after his demise that he bought a historic palazzo in central Florence. When they ask their legal representative to investigate the reasons for this purchase, he packs his bags and heads for Florence, where he encounters a city full of mysteries that he is determined to unravel. Becoming the accidental detective of the film’s title, he soon finds himself on the trail of a previously unknown painting by Renaissance-master Sandro Botticelli.
All films will be screened in Italian with English subtitles in the ballroom of the Community Center at Casa Italia.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. and screenings will begin promptly at 7:30.
The series will be hosted by Fra Noi Editor Paul Basile, who will lead the audience in a lively discussion with the director after each film.
Complimentary beverages and popcorn will be served. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged and reservations are a must. The film series is made possible through the cooperation of Dott. Alberta Lai, Director of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Chicago, and the Ministero Italiano.
